BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE Having realized the significance and necessity of Higher Education for the rural poor of Purushottampur and its periphery a few education-loving, generous and philanthropic people of the locality, dreamt of providing higher education to the children of the have-nots as well as the girl students of the conservative families on their door step. Their dream had immense strength, their activities had the true spirit and honesty. Those young and spirited bunch of people under the selfless and inspiring leadership and guidance of Late Narayan Samantaray, involved themselves day in and day out, forgetting their own world and worries, for fulfilling their cherished desire of setting up a college. The dream came true, exactly on 13 August 1979. Principal's Message

It is a pride privilege on my part to serve Tara Tarini College as its Principal in Charge. From the first day I joined this College as a Lecturer in Physics, I have been part of every nook and cranny of the College. Now that I have been bestowed upon the present responsibility, I will utilize my potential to fullest extent. Furthering the reputation of the College in Academic Activity is my first and foremost priority. Singly the goal is far. I will take one and all well wishers involved in the journey of the college, i.e., Students, Teachers, Parents and Alumni to achieve its goal. There are lot of challenges before us such as achievement of my students in various level activities, a good NAAC Score, Infrastructure Development, activating Research Cell and Placement Cell to list a few. Finally I would conclude with the saying
